Chongqing, Fendu
on the Yanhtze River
Chongqing, a busy port city, population 6 million, 1000 miles inland on the river. Foggy weather is typical in the river valley.
As our cruise direcctor said "In the Yangtze Valley, dogs bark at the sun."
Fengdu, population 100,000. The town has many new buildings to accomodate people relocated because of the Three Gorges Dam project.
Steps up from the ship dock
In a city park, our tour group visited with this orchestra and chorus of retired people, led by retired music teacher Mr. Wong. We had a sing-along, and danced together, with smiles all around.
