NORWAY 2024 -- GORDON, CAROL EDWARDS, SUSAN WILEY, AND PAT BOND

*** TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 30-31 ***

View of the Tromso Harbor from our room and the Scandic Ishavshotel:

Excursion to the Ice Dome at Camp Tamok, a 75 minute bus ride from Tromso. The structure itself was amazing. We were provided a nice lunch of lamb stew, bread and beverage. There was a reindeer pen, allowing for close viewing of the animals.

A video was shown, documenting the annual reconstrution of the ice dome.

Sitting on the ICE THRONE -- do we look REGAL?

Fruit juice was served in shot glasses made of ice.

For heartier folks than us, there is the option of staying overnight and sleeping on a ice bed, with reindeer hides for insulation (and down sleeping bags).

Making a snow angel.

Two fellow tourists, from Oman, shared our lunch table (made of ice). The lamb stew was quite tasty. Coffee and hot fruit juice were provided to drink.
