Fountain / Monument in memory of the Girondins, those who were victims in the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. This elaborate stone and bronze monument and fountain was dismantled during World War II, with the plan to melt down the bronze for war use. After the war, it was found hidden, and was restored.

Lunch at one of the many cafes near the fountain -- excellent food and inexpensive

We took a river cruise with dinner. The scenery and the dinner were wonderful.
