This white pagoda tower is in Fengjie, the town where the legend of the Dragon Boat Festival (commemorating poet Qu Yuan) originated. The poet commited suicide in the lake. The local people went onto lake in their dragon boats and fed dumplings to fish so they would not be hungry and eat Qu Yuan's body.
